Welcome. My name is Jared Peacock and I am a research geophysicist at the United States Geological Survey (USGS) specializing in electromagnetics and magnetotellurics.

My current research focuses on the geothermal potential and volcanic hazards in Mono Basin, California. I’m interested in helping geothermal power become a viable energy source by using geophysics to uncover the earth’s subsurface.

I co-wrote MTpy, an open-source software package for magnetotelluric data processing. I believe that science should be available to all and I try to follow this principle as much as possible.
